Camera
Unless you have a lot of money you will probably be making your film on the family’s camcorder unless you’ve been lucky enough to borrow a camera from school or youth club. This will have its benefits and flaws. Firstly it’s light and flexible so it won’t weigh you down on shoots but more importantly you can get it into those places where big cameras can’t. You can shoot faster but remember because it is smaller and lighter it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be diligent and take your time getting the right shots. Composition is important – think about where your subject is when you look through the viewfinder, have you got too much ground or sky? Is there too much or too little light?
You can also use your mobile phone to shoot your film. You can either upload the footage to be edited as you go along or film everything in camera and in sequence and upload without any editing necessary.
