Scheduling
Having a shot list and a schedule will help organise your shoot. The schedule can take the form of a call sheet that tells everyone how your shoot day is going to pan out, where and what time the filming is, what scenes you are filming, important contact information etc; whatever you feel will make the shoot run smoothly. You can download an example from this site.
Storyboarding is also a great way to visualise your film. This is when you draw out the scenes in blocks to help you see what you want to shoot and whether it’s going to be a long, medium or close-up shot. It visually corresponds to the script.
The key to Pre-production is planning, planning, planning because what could go wrong will go wrong and if you have planned for the worst you can tackle anything that is thrown at you. Adaptability is the secret of a good Producer.
