We're back!

Hello everyone
We have been extremely in the last few months with various projects and because of this we have moved the filming of Killriculum to next year, which will be Summer 2010! This will give us more time to develop the script and come up with more ways of making this project even better. We are still very keen to hear your ideas so please visit our forum and get involved. Halloween is mere weeks away so get your thinking caps on and cameras out! Don't let the bed bugs bite!

FUNDING UPDATE!

Hi Guys!

Wow what a busy few months!
Thing's are really starting to blast off in the Killriculum camp. We have just found out that we've been awarded some development funding from the great people at Screen West Midlands. This money will now go towards getting the script ready for the potential filming this summer.

Remember guy's if you have any idea's please let us know. We're really keen to have your input so the script can be as fun, exciting and action packed as possible. Scripts are a key ingredient for a great film bit like making a good cake!

Moving into Killriculum Phase 2...

So the first phase of Killriculum is over. We learnt about all things horror and basically had a lot of fun! So now we're moving into the next phase, which means developing the feature film script with the help of some budding young writers, casting and general pre-production in preparation for phase 3 - the 3-week residential film school and making of the Killriculum feature film - which all kicks off in the first three weeks of the summer holidays! So watch this space for the heads up on opportunities to get involved

Hello Digital!

First off a huge thank you to everyone who came to Hello Digital. We hope you enjoyed learning how to edit, using the cameras...and most popular of all the horror make-up! We haven't heard any reports of zombies walking the streets of Birmingham just yet but time will tell! It really was fantastic to see so many of you horror fans turn out for the event and enjoying yourselves...parents included!

We've been keeping our ears to the ground on behalf of all you horrorphiles out there, and the word on the street is that First Light Movies are giving away hammer horror posters!

Gallery Film Showcase on 26th Oct moved to the afternoon!

John Hough

The showcasing of the best films submitted to our gallery will now take place at 1.30pm on Sunday 26th October at Millennium Point on Curzon Street, and certificates will be handed out by legendary film director, John Hough, who will then take part in the panel discussion about the future of British horror. The screening of 'Bride of Frankenstein' (its first screening in decades) will then commence after a short break at about 3.15pm.

An extra day of workshops at the Hello Digital Festival

Hello Digital have asked us to run an extra day of workshops for all you lucky horrorphiles out there! So on Sunday 26th October, we will now be a running another day of workshops similar to the Saturday sessions: 10pm - 1pm will be pre-bookable if you e-mail laura@killriculum.co.uk and 2pm - 5pm is an open session where you're all welcome to turn up freely. In the past, those that have come for the morning have ended up staying all day! So just remember that the earlier you turn up, the more time you'll have to make your films.

We've added some scary new music to the horror mashup! Go and take a look, and if you've already been playing with the mashup, make sure you empty your browser cache and reload the page or the new sounds might not show up!!

Extended Deadline for Short Film Entries!

You'll all be pleased to know that we've decided to give you a few extra days to get your short films into us!! You've now got until the 17th October, so we can judge them over the weekend and select the winning entries which will be screened at Millennium Point as part of the Hello Digital festival on the 26th October..! So if you do enter a film into the gallery, make sure you keep the 26th October free in case yours is one of the winning films!

Creepy Coffin Installation!

Now I'm sure you know all about the Hello Digital Festival that's happening at the end of October, especially because you're all planning to come down and make some films at the Killriculum workshop sessions on Saturday 25th, and then on Sunday 26th of course you're all coming to Killriculum Gallery Showcase which is followed by a screening of the Bride of Frankenstein and a Q+A session with none other than the legendary John Hough...! And we know you won't want to miss it because it's completely free and completely awesome!
