Horror Mashup Gone Live!
We're so excited here at HQ that the horror mashup has gone live - making horror film trailers has taken over! We can't wait to hear about how you get on with the site, why not use the forum to talk about it?!
And come to think of it, how are you getting on with your short films... Remember the forum's a great place to get advice from fellow filmmakers... or maybe you need a bit of help finding extra crew or actors!
So what are you waiting for..? Get mashing!
John Hough to attend Q + A Session at Millennium Point!
Have you heard about the event we're holding for the best 10 films entered by YOU GUYS?! On the morning of Sunday 26th October we'll be showcasing the winning 10 entries from the films that you enter into our gallery. In the afternoon, we plan to show the original 'Bride of Frankenstein', followed by a Q+A session with a panel of guest speakers which so far includes John Hough (legendary director with credits including Escape From Witch Mountain, Legend of Hell House and Biggles) and John Bradburn (recently directed half hour experimental horror film in Birmingham).
Four fab films from the horror film workshops!
The young people that attended the first free Killriculum workshop last week made a whopping FOUR short films (in just one day!) which have now been uploaded to our gallery, so go and take a look!
The day was a whirl of horror film fun! Everyone got to put straight into practice everything they were learning, working alongside our professional crew members to make their own films, and we had some fun making each other up to look terrifyingly gruesome - just take a look at the pics!
The Killriculum website has finally gone live
Killriculum is an original and innovative West Midlands based project aimed at enabling a broad range of young people to engage with film and new media.
At its heart of it is this new website dedicated to the ‘Killriculum’ project. We envisage the project running for the next 18 months in 3 phases, culminating in Oct 09, with a feature film premiere.
In the first stage we want you to make your own short horror films and upload them to the website. The ten of the best films submitted will be shown at the “Hello Digital’ Showcase festival on October 25th.
Killriculum Filmmaking Workshops
As part of the Killriculum project we are running free filmmaking workshops jam-packed full of activities that teach you core skills and ultimately help you to make your own short horror films.
Learn how to use a camera, record sound and edit. There will also be workshops on scriptwriting, acting for film and horror make-up.
